In-Studio Pilates FAQs
What’s the best way to get started with in-studio sessions?
The best way to start pilates is with a package of at least 5 private sessions. This will give you the opportunity to gain an understanding of the workout, apparatus, exercises, etc. It will also give you and your teacher a chance to get to know each other and find the best ways to meet your goals. You can purchase a 5-pack of sessions with a Senior teacher here.
Once you do so, you can then go into the schedule to book your sessions to get started.
How do I sign up for an in-studio session?
You can sign up for sessions online with the Mindbody scheduler, or use the Rhinebeck Pilates app from your phone or tablet.
Once you have created an account or signed in to the scheduler, you will first purchase the type of session you want to take. After you purchase the session type, you can then use the scheduling software to select the date, time, and teacher you would like to book a session with.
If you need assistance in booking your session, please create an account in our mindbody online scheduler first, and then contact the studio so that we can book your session for you using your account on file.
Do you offer in-studio group classes?
Yes, we offer several group pilates classes in the studio weekly. Any classes on the schedule with the title, “In-Studio” means they take place in the studio.
- These classes are always one rate, regardless as to how many people are signed up for the class.
- In-Studio Group Classes are 45 minutes long and are based on one primary piece of equipment per class.
How can I join a group class?
Using our mindbody online scheduler, you will first purchase the type of class you want to join. Once you have done so, you can then use your purchase to sign up for the day and time you want to take the class.
If you purchase a class package, you must sign up for each class using your purchased package in order to be scheduled for those classes.
What are In-Studio Small Groups?
Small Groups are 2-5 people who meet at the same time weekly and who already have an understanding of the classical pilates repertoire.
- Rates for Small Groups fluctuate depending on the number of students attending each time. For example, if there are 4 people attending a small group, the rate is a “Quad” rate. If there are 2 people attending, the rate is a “Duet” rate.
- Small Groups are 50 minutes long and are based on multiple pieces of equipment each week, including the reformers, Cadillacs, barrels, and chairs.
To join a small group, please contact the studio.
Can I join a Group Class or Small Group if I’ve never done pilates?
You are welcome to try a Group Class as a beginner, although the best way to start pilates is with private sessions.
You must have some previous classical pilates experience to join a Small Group.
Are any in-studio classes drop-in?
All classes should be registered ahead of time to reserve your place. You will receive an email confirmation after you sign up for a group class with information about how to log into Zoom.
Why is there a 24-hour cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is a way of guaranteeing your reserved space in the studio. It’s also a way for our teachers to be guaranteed payment for the classes they teach. Many thanks to all our students for respecting this policy.
Do class or session packages expire?
All packages have a three-month expiration date. If your package does expire and you still want to use classes, you may contact the studio within one year of the expired package and the money will be placed into your account as credit for any classes at the full rate per class (for three additional months only).
How do I book an In-Studio Private Session?
Use the online scheduler (click here) and search the day and time that you’d like to come in and you will see what is available. Private sessions can be purchased as single sessions, or packages.
How can I book or join a duet session?
If you have a friend or partner who you’d like to do duet sessions with, you can book these through the online scheduler. You must both book individually for the session. If neither of you have previous experience, or if your levels of experience differ greatly, we suggest private sessions until you get the hang of the workout.
What is a Private Standing Appointment?
If you know you want to keep your private session appointment for a specific time and day beyond 10 sessions and on an ongoing basis, this is called a Standing Appointment. A Standing Appointment holds you space on the schedule ongoing for an extended period of time.
For Standing Appointments, you can choose if you want to pay for single sessions or buy packages. Either way, your card on file will be charged by the studio accordingly until you cancel your ongoing Standing Appointment. By signing up for Standing Appointments, you are agreeing to this studio-wide procedure.
An appointment is considered Standing if you consistently attend your sessions without canceling more than 2 times in a row or 3 times in 2 months. If it appears that the Standing appointment is not consistently working for your schedule, your teacher will reach out to you to discuss how to proceed.
If you would like an appointment for the same day and time weekly but do not want to commit to what qualifies as a Standing Appointment, your appointments will be scheduled for the length of time that you have pre-purchased: a single session (re-booked weekly based on availability), 5 sessions in a row (if you buy a 5 pack), or 10 in a row (if you buy a 10 pack).
