Pilates at the Pillow® is a three-day conference for pilates teachers at the historic Jacob’s Pillow and at Joe’s original studio in Becket, MA. Created by Sean Gallagher and Elaine Ewing, P@P™ was developed to research and define and refine the standard of The Art and Science of Contrology through workshops based on archival documentation and scientific research.
Pilates at the Pillow® is Dedicated to Pilates and Its History with Events Focused on:
Re-Introducing Lost Apparatus
Pilates at The Pillow® is known for being first in the pilates world to re-introduce lost apparatus, invented by Joe, as well as his teachings that have not been taught since he passed over 50 years ago. We do this both in workshop and experiential forms and incorporate both original apparatus and reproductions.
Supporting Community Interest in Joe’s Original Method
Pilates at The Pillow® and The Pilates Source® have initiated the recent resurgence of interest within the pilates community to learn about Joe’s original method by providing attendees with many different opportunities at the conference.

LOCATED AT JACOB’S PILLOW
Pilates at the Pillow® is held at the Jacob’s Pillow in Becket, Massachusetts where Joe Pilates taught his historical and now-famous mat classes and had a studio on his nearby property. Once a hard-scrabble mountaintop farm, Jacob’s Pillow is now a home for international dance.
Perles Family Studio
Most workshops and classes are held in the gorgeous, new Perles Family Studio.
Joseph Pilates Becket Studio
Experience the recently renovated original studio of Joseph Pilates which is a museum and working studio where workshops and tours take place.
